Nathan Hodge
Head Referee
Nathan’s role-playing journey began in 1992 when he began playing Dungeons & Dragons, evolving over time as he brought together his love of fantasy storytelling, improvised theatre,
and martial arts into Live Action Roleplay.
In 2009, he co-founded a role-play focused LARP community in Sydney, building it from the ground up with like-minded friends.
Over the last decade and a half, the system and community they created have inspired numerous other groups, many of which Nathan has supported as a player, referee, storyteller, event planner, logistics coordinator, creature designer, and prop builder.
Through his and his partner’s online presence, NoLARPing Matter, Nathan continues to mentor, consult, and advocate - driven by a belief in inclusive, collaborative, and imaginative play where communities grow and thrive together. -
